South West Rocks

View from my chair as we watch the Sydney Weekender TV show crew filming. As Reece says it seems like a lot of sitting around. We are keeping our distance from the camera. Our entertainment for today!! Just returned from the fisherman coop and have yummy prawns and a nice whole snapper for the BBQ. Sad for Auntie Diney .. Ken passed away early this morning.

Iluka

Hi Folks, It seems some time since I last wrote.....
We are now at Woody Head in the National Park near Iluka and Yamba. this is three hours south of Brisbane, right on the northern NSW coast. Iluka is the closest town about 8 kms south. A pretty holiday place right on the banks of the Clarence River which is huge. Across the river is Yamba which is much busier with loads of apartment and holiday accommodation. The park is quiet but gets busy at the weekend. We have a good view of the ocean from the caravan, lots of sea breeze (it is windy today) and has been too cold for a swim. However, the beach is nice and safe for the kids and plenty of rock pools to explore. We did the rainforest walk yesterday. not as lush as others but a world heritage listed.. famous for the strangling fig which engulfs its host. Reece had agreed to walk the Iluka golf course with me but unfortunately ( perhaps fortunate ) he seems to have hurt his ankle and now hobbling. so no golf >>>> he just doesn't like golf!!!
We will leave here on saturday and stay probably near Coffs Harbour.
We had a very nice time with Pam and Ray Bland at their property in Kyogle near Nimbin. very pretty, hilly country, chooks, green grass, creek, horses and cows. Took a drive to Border park which butts onto Lamington park which you may have heard of.Anyway, fantastic drive up the range, spectacular views across the Tweed Valley and magnificent rain forest. We parked on their front lawn and it was an opportunity to clean the van outside and inside and clear the dust out. So I had the vacuum inside and Reece had the pressure cleaner on the outside. It looks a lot better but not perfect and we are not into polishing etc.as we see some people do!!! Pam has had a number of health issues back surgery twice, hip replacement in the last 18 months.... but she looked the best I had seen her in ages, much happier too. It was good to see.
Sun shining, breeze blowing, cuppa in hand... all sounds idyllic!!!
We are hooked into a few TV shows .....Salamander last night SBS. cooking shows thurs night. Madam Secretary. new NCIS Homeland... not ch else to do in the evening.

Cant wait to see you Mum in Sydney end Nov.
Have fun at Albany whoever is gong in the family

Dinner last night. Reece and I have just arrived in Brisbane. Early 0620 flight. Just as well we left the Coogee hotel really really early. The queue for baggage drop was awful ..not enough staff at jetstar..
. Leave Brisbane tomorrow stay probably tweed heads then to Pam and Ray Bland at Kyogle for a couple of days. Had a gorgeous time with Emily and Lucas and of course Richard and jo.
Great lunch on Friday with Linda and James st Cockle Bay. We have had fun but looking forward to my comfy bed and good pillows in the caravan. Looks like very happy birthday celebrations at  Antheas. Thanks for the pics. Mum you look terrific.Love Pen

Lunch Noosa

Gorgeous time with Angie and Lachlan Lidbury on holiday from Perth. Dear little Meg on my lap. For the car enthusiasts Mark Webber was at the next table. Oh dining with the rich and famous.
