Subject: Back ar Narrabeen, Sydney
We had a vey interesting morning on Sat. We drove from Rylstone to Kandos only 7 km away. Again a smallish town but doesn't have the charm and quaint buildings that sits neighbour Rylstone has. We went to visit a display of old Harley motorises. This man has been collecting them for 30 years. It is the biggest collection of such old ones in Australia... More than 25 thay range from 1912, some used in the wars, truly amazing and well worth the visit. Such an interesting character. They are housed in the original town hall which then became the picture theatre with sloping floor, then abandoned until he acquired it . He has to tool many of the parts himself as of course non available. Then home to settle into the footy... The day was extremely blustery. I think Sydney was awful. Anyway, I was thrilled to be watching the footy and yelling at them when they missed too many shots at goals.... Bugger,,, but we were not good epigh on the day. It would have been fantastic to share all of this with the crowd in freo. Liz and Keith net some snaps of the event ..thanks.
Yesterday we drove from Rylstone to Narrabeen on the northern beaches of Sydney. A slow drive because they are working on the road through the Blue Mountains, Katoomba. Very slow and we have done that road three times now so we don't need to do it again until the new road is in. However it is very pretty. Then onto the M7 and quick as a flash into Sydney. Good road the to mona vale and here. It is school, holidays so the park is quite busy but is is gorgeous to here all the kids having such fun. I actually went over to a family las night. The kids were in the tent playing with torches, laughing and yelling. Just had to let the parents know how it was great to hear kids having such fun.
Weather is glorious. Meant to be 28 today. Beach over the road and the river next door.
You will all know Palm Beach.. Well there was a it fire at Barenjoey point where the lighthouse is. It is tight at the tip at Palm Beach, very lucky they didn't lose the lighthouse etc. there is such a lot of bush and trees around Sydney. Plenty I'd national parks, surprising there hasn't been more devastation in the past. We will see the grandies later today and have dinner with them. Reece has a Cardiology check up tomorrow then we will go up the Hawkesbury river to a park there, then back to Lane Cove and home for me. Keith arrives the same day I leave for Perth after playing masters bowls comp in Melbourne. They will go to Bathurst and do the circuit,Parkes, and Bourke.
Looking forward to seeing you all very soon
Much love

Bad manners
Reece came outs of the grog shop yesterday and told me about a man who was so badly behaved in the shop. He was ranting and raving about a refund or some such. He was denied service with his behaviour. His parting gesture was to knock over the chills and nut stand and stamp on them.
Oh guess who are our neighbours here in the park!!!!! We keep moving our chairs so we have our backs to them.

Mudgee
We are now in Mudgee for three nights. Nice grounds next to the river and in the edge if town. Walk this morning along the river and thru the streets. Very pretty older houses and gardens. Rain two weeks ago has been a boost to the gardens. Wisteria blooming everywhere. This snap shows the beautiful copper spire on the catholic church. Sorry the pic doesn't do it justice. The morning sun wad shining on it and it was so pretty. Off to finery and cheese places today. This us a bug wine growing area. Also cattle and sheep.
Love to you all

Bundeena
Hi All,
Well we had a lovely day on Saturday when we arrived here at Bundeena to the Bonnie Vala campground. The park very busy with weekend campers.it is only and hour south of Sydney in the RoyalNat Park so it is very convenient. The site is unpowered and no water but we are self sufficient. We noticed our neighbours packing up very early on Sun (three families arrived on Sat arvo) to leave. it seems that their eskies with food for big fry up brekkie had been pinched overnight!!! The ranger had warned us not to leave anything esp eskies out as the local rif raf are known to help themselves..... So they left and put a dampner on their camping experience.
The weather has turned really stormy. yesterday we just had to stay in the van with rainand wind all about. We read and watched a dumb movie.
We are now having to put the generator on as not enough sun to power up the pumps etc. oops and it seems the batteries for the caravan are not holding power.. so we have arranged to replace the batteries on Sat am.
Plan now is to return to lane Cove tomorrow (wednesday) babysit thurs and fri then sat go to Narrabeen on the northern beaches as lane Cove is all booked out for the school hols. Get the new batteries installed on sat, have a couple of days there then head out west.
Just returned from our ferry ride to Cronulla. It takes almost half an hour. Nice walk along the beach front then a Thai lunch. I like the feel of Cronulla, beachy, casual, some beautiful high rise apartments. Nice shops, beautiful houses on the bay. And just a train ride to Sydney.easy.

New hat
Bought myself a new hat at the Bundeena school fete. It is a fantastic Maya Neumann hat. You can squash then, wet them and reshape. Really good price $130. I know I paid well more for my other one from the rocks market a few years ago.

Rich has gone to Coffs for the weekend to watch some car rally off road races. So Jo Jo,e alone with babies.
Weather fab, fires all out. The day the fires were on was ghastly.

Horrible day in Sydney
Hi All.
Ooh what a nasty day in Sydney today. There is a huge westerly wind blowing and temp nearly 30. Dry, Dust, leaves all about. It is just like the easterly wind in Perth that come straight from the wheatbelt. And now i hear there are fires which i am not at all surprised. beautiful weather for fires. We washed the outside of the caravan early today after I returned from a walk. Poor van never gets washed so it was a big treat. Looks ok now but I guess not for long with all this wind and dust. We have now just returned for the movies. We saw Red 2 with Helen Mirren, Bruce Willis. I enjoyed it and had lots of laughs. Just so over the top with car chases, shootings. Just fun. Now at home with the air con on!!!!!
Rich and his birthday on Sunday and we had the afternoon at their house. A very happy day with some other friends there too. The kids enjoyed blowing out candles and eating chocolate cake.
So exciting that the Dockers have done so well. It would be fantastic if we made the final!!!!
Any gossip from the west.
Has bunnings taken over the Bayview centre?
Love to everyone

Newnes.
We just had four gorgeous nights at Newnes. Just near lithgow. We had kangaroo, wallabies, birds, possums, monitor lizards and wombats as neighbours. So lovely to be out in the bush, by a creek surrounded by high cliffs. Now back in Sydney. And having sweet time with Lucas and Emily. Lucas very proud to be wearing new bathers to swimming classes yesterday .
