Hi Family and Friends.
back on the road!!!!!
Mum and I had a lovely time in Sydney. The apartment in Coogee was perfect. 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom on first floor with lift access. security swipe to enter and undercover parking for the little pale red Barina .she goes like a charm and just the shot for getting around sydney. i amfeeling much more confident driving and becoming mor familiar with the eastern suburbs. Mum and i had a couple of great drives down to maroubra, then to Bronte, Bondi, watsons bay, vaucluse and more. I didn't need to tackle the bridge, that is a treat for the next visit. We saw lots of Lucas and Emily .......oh and of course Jo and Rich. it was so lovely to see them warm up to GiGi.She was a winner when she gave them both some little toy cars..... its raining!!!!!! just had to quickly close some hatches......
So we had fun. Aunti Diney took us for a very special lunch at the Queens Club. the Club is in Elizabeth St opposite Hyde Park so the view is really pretty. Silver service and fabulous food... and of course i was the only one to have all 3 courses......i want going to miss out. I left Mum there with Diana and said goodbye to her....a bit sad.....sje then went on to stay with Diana for a few days then Joana got her to the plane and made sure she was on the flight. Just by chance cousin qantas Captain Ian Dodds (Doddsy to me) happened to arrive and had some time with Mum and Jo at the airport.
I had a day to myself in sydney beforeI left to meet Reece, but i had a filthy cold so just didnt do anything mch.the cold nearly nearly gone. I expected to get a cold after Reece had a ghastly one in Italy.
We loved our holiday in Italy. We skyped Keith and Chris last night. seems like spring has sprung. Poppies are out and shorts are on. they will be home late June.
Reece met me at Lismore airport and we went to Pam and Ray's in Kyogle for the night.Pam cooked a really yummy roast chook and made a fuss about my birthday which was so nice. The boys had a good time on their caravanning to Cubbie Station and surrounds.
It was good to get back to my little house. and into my comfy bed....
today is tuesday.. we left Kyogle last friday and drove through some very pretty hilly green country via Nimbin and had 3 nights at the Glen Villa Caravan Park in beautiful Byron Bay. For those of you who haven't been to Nimbin there is no need to rush.It is the hippie and dope smoking area. nice little village. all the shops have rainbows or coloured flags flying. there are some very aged hippies around, all wearing nothing that matches, awful colours, long lanky grey hair and so many dreadlocks.....yuk they actually look grubby.....so do the shops. i was going to buy some stuff for muesli but changed my mind .... nasty dirty shop.
Byron was lovely. very busy as it was market day and that was fantastic.best markets i have seen. Sorry italian markets just don't make it.... also there was an oceanswim on.something similar to the Rottnest swim but not as far i don't think. The crowd on the beach was enormous. fantastic atmosphere. We are now at Beachmere which is a seaside town about 30 mins north of Brisbane. Very tidy small caravan park opposite the beach. unfortunately the beach a bit disappointing as it is very tidal and the sand is horrible grey. Not warm enough for a swim, but I did swim in Byron and had a jump around in the surf. We had a drive to Bribie Island only about 20 mins away. Better beaches there. We bought some beautiful Bay prawns for only $4 per kilo.the small school prawns, sweet. had some for lunch with some crab as well. we tried spanner crab in Byron. Quite different to blue swimmer crab.they have a really big claw like a spanner, hence the name. Don't waste you time trying them, they don't have the flavour.
Quiet afternoon paying car rego, not paying nursing rego....!!!!!! I have informed them i will not be renewing my registration...wow .....it is difficult to maintain reg as i have to do professional development etc and I have had enough of work.....so no more nurse stuff for me.
Reece and I had flu vac yesterday. I love bulk billing... it only cost $15 for my flu vac. reece had his free. something about being over 60 is ok.
We are off to Noosa tomorrow for 5 nights where we will meet up with Jill and Joe Poupe from Tas. they are such good company and Reece is in need of another haircut, so will get Joe on the job
After Noosa we hope go to Teewee beach and free camp right on the beach.
oh it is now 4.30. i might see what is happening on Bold and Beautiful>>>>
lots of love to everyone. keep the emails coming . i love hearing from you all
