Innisfail.

We found the little house we lived in all those years ago. It had a lovely garden but all gone now. It was brand new duplex and very nice.had a big drive around to Flying Fish Point and to The Boulders at Babinda. Enjoying Cairns. Weather great... Not too humid and no rain. Will be here till next week.

Sailing to Cairns

After two beautiful nights at Michelmas Cay 40kms north east of Cairns, we are sailing into Cairns. Sunny, calm and we had a great snorkel before we left. Will have the night in th marina at Cairns then clean up tomorrow before we head back to the caravan and set off again. it had been so special.

Sailing

We are having a fab time on the reef. We had a big sail, actually no sail, we motored as we were punching into the very strong wind.the wind has been very strong, but I don't mind as then it is not too hot. No rain which is a bonus and the sun coming out. More than three hours to get to this beautiful spot called michelmas (sp) cay. We have a sand cay just a swim away. There are thousands of black birds, terns? Making the place their home. Natsumi is a very comfy boat. Sits in the water so well. I have the front berth all to myself, double bed size and I have a hatch right above my head which is open all night. So I am in a great spot. Just had brekkie And waiting for the bread to cook then we will jump into the water and check out the fish and coral. Sheryl and I just threw over some bread and heaps of fish came in for a feed. The big boat in the pics belongs to friends of Gil and Sheryl. We had dinner on board last night. It is a mackerel fishing boat, but they have just returned form the Solomon Islands where they were carting coconuts. They are living on board but not fishing at present. It was so interesting to learn about the fishing.
Will be back in Cairns marina late tomorrow.
Love to you all

Reef

This is pretty amazing. We are more than 20 kms from port Douglas on the Great Barrier Reef. We are the only boat here in the middle of nowhere on water. It is lie we are in outback but it is the outback on the sea. We saw some beautiful fish snorkelling on coral. Oh we are so lucky to be here with Gil and Sheryl.

Lake Tinaroo

A very beautiful memorial for those who died in Afghanistan, at Lake Tinaroo near Atherton. I was overcome with emotion. There is an avenue of flame trees which will flower in November for Remembrance Day.
