Zebra springs NT
Our last night in NT was at this great spot. Young couple has bought the mining lease for beautiful zebra stone. This is the only place in the world that it is found. All sorts of scientific theories as to how it was formed but still unknown. Millions of years old and really beautiful when polished. Makes fabulous table and bench tops. Road in was good except the bulldust incredible and our was clean van is no longer. Went on to Argyle Downs to stay but such a stupid by fight to book in and extremely crowded. We left. Onto Kununurra and full there too. So on to Wyndham and what a delightful caravan park run by Sharon. Nice and shaded. Big boat tree at outdoor step. We have done the drive around. Some empty and run down houses. Some businesses have closed since we were last here. The last ship loading nickel is coming in tomorrow. Pub at the wharf has closed. But the sobering up facility going well. Work camp (prison) very neat. Rehab centre well patronised. So plenty of infrastructure for our cousins. Drove by Jo's house that she lived in when teaching here. Garden brown and sad. They have had a dry wet so everything looks brown. Our to Parry Lagoon. Again looking grim as water levels low.
